MY DONATED "HAWAIIAN BLOOD!!!"
TODAY I DONATED BLOOD AT THE BETHEL PREMIER BLOOD DRIVE HELD AT THE BETHEL CULTURAL CENTER. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I DONATED BLOOD WAY BACK IN 1990 IN ARIZONA WHERE I ATTENDED COLLEGE. I SIGNED UP AND CONTINUED TO DONATE FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS AND WHEN I MOVED BACK TO HAWAI'I, I NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. BUT UNTIL NOW... I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK TO "GIVING" TO THE WORLD.
I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO DONATE BLOOD IF POSSIBLE AS IT IS ABOUT "KOKUA" (HELPING) OTHERS WHEN IN NEED.
You don’t need a special reason to give blood.
You just need your own reason.
- Some of us give blood because we were asked by a friend.
- Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood some day.
- Some believe it is the right thing we do.
Whatever your reason, the need is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. And you’ll feel good knowing you've helped change a life.
